Daniel Álvarez

I studied Audiovisual Communication in Madrid, always seeking to participate in short films, amateur videogames, and other creative projects. There I found how much I enjoy collaborating with others and building things together. My first professional role was as a graphic designer and web developer: it gave me valuable skills, but I wanted to contribute to something bigger than just delivering outputs.

In 2016, a fortunate opportunity introduced me to UX Design, and it was an instant match. I found a discipline that connects my skills as a designer with the collaborative spirit I experienced in the audiovisual industry. It provides an opportunity to work closely with both engineering and business teams around the world, sharing ideas and contributing towards a common goal.

I moved to Barcelona to fully commit with this profession and after different projects, I consolidated my role as a Senior UX Designer at Cotecna, leading design across the organization and collaborating with international teams.

More recently, AI has become an important part of my design process. In a continuours learning process, I have developed a range of custom workflows, agents, and tools that help others work in a more design-driven way. I go into more detail in Designing with AI.

Outside of work, I enjoy life in Barcelona, the city I chose to build my future in. I am passionate about basketball, stand-up comedy, and continuous learning in all its forms.
